Any active Steam hosts on the local network should be detected. Valve has built it right into the Steam client and all you have to do for most games is turn it on. It is basically a compatibility layer that mimics Windows. If I open the game dir, and start BorderlandsGOTY.exe, it starts up, but most video scenes are some green mess.
